A properly weighted and balanced car is crucial. Pro Pinewood Derby racers don't worry about center of gravity, rather they concentrate on how the weight is spread among the three wheels that contact the track. The traditional method Pros use is to place each wheel on it’s own scale to determine how much of the car’s weight is distributed to each wheel and adjusting accordingly. While effective, this is a costly method.
With a scale and Turbo Pucks a racer can weigh and balance their car just like a Pro, but without the expense of three scales!
