For maximum speed and stability, your car should steer slightly into the rail. This is accomplished by bending your front axle. To fine-tune the amount of steer, pro racers will cut a slot or groove into the head of the axle so it can be turned with a flathead screwdriver while in the car.
Insert a Pinewood Derby axle into the Turbo Groove Tool from Turbo Derby, tighten the adjustment screws, and clamp the tool either into a bench vise or to a table with a C-clamp. Use a hacksaw inserted into the tool slots to cut the groove!
